Why are tyres important?

Tyres link you and your car to the road, so having sufficient tread depth on your tyres is extremely important. The legal limit in the UK for a tyre is 1.6mm, with the industry recommendation to change your tyres at 3mm. The less tread you have on your tyres, the greater your stopping distance is when braking. Bear this in mind when driving. Your tyres wear quicker the less tread depth you have so checking your tyres is key to being safe on the roads.
